I think the "switch between types of "souls"" button (C) isn't working?

(+1)

The C button allow you to use your second equipped soul, after you get a certain upgrade. I'll admit the tutorial is a bit confusing since it explains it before you can actually use it.

(+1)

I meant when I got the update earlier. I didn't notice that I needed to get another soul first 🫠

do you have the source code for this game still? It would be fun if I could mod it

I do, but it's on a weird state right now, since I've started doing some improvements and didn't use source control for this one.

I could release It when I finish the 1.2 version.

Hey eros, I saw your speedruns on candela and animancer on youtube and I think they're awesome! I tried commenting on your videos but my comments kept gettting deleted, I guess youtube thinks I'm a spammer lol.

I'd love if you could help me testing the newest versions of the game, I think someone skilled like you would have some very valuable feedback. If you're interested, could you give me any contact info?

IT'S A FRIGGIN' MASTAPIECE

This is an incredibly made game, and I love the way it's so simple and cool.

Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the game.

wow, good game. Really loved the art, animations and gameplay. Great job!

If you accept suggestions, I think you should put a checkpoint nearer the on the sky fragment. Maybe on the upper exit of the cave. When I was playing, there were many times I died trying to get to that part and then I had to go back from the cave checkpoint to there. It was pretty frustrating.

Thanks for playing! I really want to get back to this little project and add little quality of life and bugfixes eventually, so suggestions do are welcome, thanks.

This, I stopped playing after falling down and having to walk all the way back for the third time.

cannot find the last soul fragment :( :<

There's one at the beginning, one above the skies and one far below :)

i found all, thanks!

Could not get past the long jumps to the left and can't get past the spikes to the right.  It has potential, but am I missing something?  There are just a couple of screens you can access.

Hey, thanks for playing :)

The game is pretty hard and not very long, as it was made in just a week for a game jam. I do wish to revisit this project eventually with new content and rebalancing, but it'll probably be after I finish my current project.

On another note, you can get past the spikes in the right by dashing through them, the tutorial on that screen teaches you how to remove your soul to get the dash.

I often have troubles with my character going offscreen when the camera doesnt move when it should, is there any way to fix this? Amazing game!

Hey, thanks for playing! I'll take a look at It, any ideas on how to reproduce this bug?

(1 edit) (+1)

Yes. At the hidden passage in the green area near the start (I will put a photo here to show where it is), it is most easily repeatable and devastating to my gameplay. All you need to do is to go back and forth between rooms quickly and it will almost certainly occur. As you can see in the photo, I cannot see my character and therefore experience difficulty escaping the hole.

Thanks a lot! I'll try to solve it as soon as possible :)

Still not solved.

Unfortunately I was(and still am) working on another project so I still haven't had the time to work on fixes for this one :(

The angled jump mechanics are very weird to play with, and don't work very well for precise jumps, making it somewhat difficult to progress. (And I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get up to the second checkpoint, or figure out how to make any progress in the room with the red enemies..)

Mechanics aside, I think that the game would benefit from having more visually interesting environments. (Although that's more of a finishing touch.)

So far it's a very promising game, it just needs a bit of work. The character animations are very cute as well! I'll be sure to follow for updates. ^^

Thanks for playing! Since this was a jam game I hadn't a lot of time to make tile variations and decorations, so I agree it looks bland at the moment. I do plan to update it, both with some polishing and new content.

There are multiple ways to get up from the second checkpoint: The easy way would be through buying a blue soul from the merchant. You can also exit through the room to the left (with the bats). This room was supposed to be done with a certain upgrade, but it can also be done with a single pink soul and some very tricky platforming.
